IlluminOss Medical’s Martha Shadan Named AdvaMed Accel Chair

AdvaMed Accel—the division within AdvaMed dedicated to addressing the unique needs and challenges of smaller medical technology manufacturers—announced Martha Shadan, executive chairwoman of IlluminOss Medical, has been named chair of the Accel Board of Directors for a two-year term.
 
Shadan has served on the Accel Board of Directors since 2015 and the AdvaMed Board of Directors since 2017. She was also a founding member of the Leadership Circle for the association’s Women’s Executive Network (WEN) and has served as the Co-Chair of the Physician-Owned Companies Working Group since its formation under the Legal Committee in late 2015.

Shadan succeeds Patrick Daly, president and CEO of Cohera Medical, who served as chair of the Accel Board since 2016.
 
Chief among his accomplishments as Accel Chair, Daly oversaw the creation of a Business Development Working Group, which connects small companies, business development executives, and the investment community. During his tenure, Daly also directed extensive research on challenges facing the industry and potential solutions.
